The Cronus Land

By Khecari (other events)

21 Dates Through Nov 13, 2015

ABOUT ABOUT

Expanding upon last year's sold out performance Oubliette, Khecari's new work The Cronus Land is an epic, site-specific dance work installed in the decayed splendor of the Louis XVI Ballroom of the historic Shoreland, once Hyde Park's grandest luxury hotel.

Contextually abstracted and physically literalized, The Cronus Land is an exploration of the manipulation of space to privilege and disenfranchise, with the bodies of 12 performers and 12 audience members journeying through a massive dance-riddled labyrinth before entering a micro-theater to witness the culmination in a 5x8 foot pit.

Full price tickets are $250; this reflects the cost, per seat, of creating this performance.  Discounted seats are $100, $50, $25, and $10; these are subsidized by grants and individual donations.  If you would like to pay for a higher price seat than is available on the night for which you're buying tickets, you can donate here.

The experience includes walking and standing as well as seated viewing.
There is one available wheelchair spot per night; you may choose any of the twelve tickets.
While the material is thematically mature, the content is not inappropriate for children.
The performance runs two hours with an intermission.
