as though your body were right is a Khecari project in development. This work has two principal axes of examination: the cellular life of the body as it relates to the human superorganism, and the paradoxic power and vulnerability of embodiment.
In its focus on bodily vulnerability, the work will be presented with only four viewers in extreme proximity to a fully naked performer. We anticipate that this may not be an easy viewing experience and will caretake you to the best of our ability. We want to make you feel as safe as possible in order that you may embrace discomfort on your terms, if you choose, as this is one of the values art can offer.
HOW TO GET A TICKET
With that in mind, and knowing that viewing space is extremely limited, we are asking those interested in attending to fill out an Audience Application. Once you've done so, if there is seating still available, we will be in touch by email to give you a code to use on this ticketing site, in order to secure your seat.
TICKET PRICING INFORMATION
We set ticket prices so as to make our work financially accessible, while still advocating for the true cost of art-making. Since this is a work-in-progress, all tickets are fully subsidized. Were this a fully produced show, a $90 "Full Price Ticket" would reflect all the costs of this project to date ($12,684 at $10,529 in $16/hr artist pay + $2155 production costs), divided by the total number of seats which would be available (144 at 4 seats x 36 shows). We are projecting that when the show is ready for its premiere, Full Price Tickets will be $320. We will always offer partially and fully subsidized tickets.
COVID PROTOCOL
This showing requires close proximity to an unmasked performer (the performer and Khecari team are all fully vaccinated). You should attend only if you are vaccinated and comfortable being in proximity to vaccinated but unmasked neighbors; you are welcome to wear a mask if you like. If you are not fully vaccinated, we ask you to wait for a later opportunity to view this or other Khecari work. We are sensitive to renewed COVID-related concerns, particularly due to the delta variant, and if CDC or local guidelines change in such a way that we are unable to proceed with unmasked performers in proximity to audience, we will notify all ticketholders of the cancellation or alternate plans in advance of the showings.
